Find yourself driving around with a pile of garments to take to the tailor, but wish you should make simple alterations yourself? This 1-hour workshop will introduce basic alterations we can make at home without advanced sewing skills. We’ll address how to sew different types of buttons, how to pin and hem pants, how to take in the back waist of a pair of jeans or pants that gaps above the hips, how to shorten some types of sleeves, and how to make a small dart to address gaping in a dress or blouse bodice. We’ll also demonstrate how to try on a garment inside out to make adjustments before even threading a needle.
